Effect of Curing Methods on Plastic Shrinkage Cracking

چکیده
Early-age cracking during the plastic stage is unsightly and a cause of future durability problems. This paper investigates effects various simple curing methods used in practice to enhance early-age concrete performance, including covering with sheet wet hessian fabric, surface power floating use cold water mix. The benefits offered by three standard admixtures (Safecure Super concrete, Safecure 90W-10%, superplasticizer), as well recycled tire steel fibres at 40 kg/m3, are also examined. A digital image processing (DIP) technique measure crack widths, whilst temperature measured via thermocouple. results show that all successful restraining micro shrinkage cracks, although fibre (RTSFC40) most effective eliminating cracks. All examined compared terms speed cost application, quality finish environmental credentials. study will inform best on enhancing sustainability structures, particularly for slab-on-grade applications.

15 صفحه اولCuring with Shrinkage-Reducing Admixtures Beyond drying shrinkage reduction
Shrinkage of concrete, along with the cracking that often accompanies it, has been a continual concern of the concrete construction community.1,2 In the past 20 years or so, numerous shrinkage-reducing admixtures (SRAs) have been developed with the goal of reducing drying shrinkage and delaying or preventing cracking.2-6 Most SRAs function by reducing the surface tension of the pore solution in...
متن کاملEffect of Light-curing Units and Activation Mode on Polymerization Shrinkage and Shrinkage Stress of Composite Resins
The aim of this study was to evaluate the polymerization shrinkage and shrinkage stress of composites polymerized with a LED and a quartz tungsten halogen (QTH) light sources. The LED was used in a conventional mode (CM) and the QTH was used in both conventional and pulse-delay modes (PD). The composite resins used were Z100, A110, SureFil and Bisfil 2B (chemical-cured). Composite deformation u...
متن کاملPlastic Package Moisture-Induced Cracking
With the older “through-hole” technology packages such as the Dual In-line Package (DIP), soldering to printed circuit boards was accomplished using a wave solder. The DIP leads went through holes in the printed circuit board, where they were exposed to molten solder during the mounting process. The DIP’s body was never subjected directly to the solder melt, because it was protected from the he...
